Our "Why"

This is a pivotal time in Cameroon.

Three out of five small businesses in Cameroon fail within the first few months of starting. This, for us, is an opportunity to rethink the future of entrepreneurship — especially its role in advancing positive social and environmental change. We are here to help them survive, grow, and scale.

Impact grows through collaboration.

Transformational change cannot happen in isolation. We bring together entrepreneurs, innovators, institutions, and communities to build partnerships that strengthen the ecosystem for social innovation and entrepreneurship.

Innovation is essential for solving today's challenges.

When individuals gain the right skills, support, and networks, they can turn bold ideas into impactful ventures. By connecting, inspiring, and transforming innovators, we help build a new generation of entrepreneurs driving positive social and environmental change.

Our impact journey

Co-working space Yaoundé — 2024

2024

Co-working space Yaoundé

After decades of experience in the INGO, CSO, and corporate sectors, two bold, dynamic thinkers started a co-working space for Yaoundé's rising entrepreneurs and freelancers. Through our work evaluating startups funded by international non-profits, we observed a recurring pattern: many failed after seed funding ended — not because their ideas were weak, but because they lacked strong local ecosystem support. What started as a co-working space is gradually becoming a force for social innovation: a safe, innovative space where young changemakers come to find meaning and collaborate on durable solutions to pressing environmental, education, health, and agricultural challenges.

From Co-working space to Durable Impact — 2025

2025

From Co-working space to Durable Impact

What started as a co-working space became a force for social innovation. That vision became Durable Impact Ltd — a social enterprise tackling two intertwined challenges: the high failure rate of SMEs, and structural youth unemployment. We've already hosted and empowered over 100 startups, helped 23+ businesses sharpen their marketing and business plans, and supported 10+ unemployed graduates into decent tech-driven jobs. Today, our young, energized team and growing community of impact makers continue this journey in Yaoundé — connecting changemakers through inspiring events, collaborative workspaces, tailored programs, skill-building at Durable Impact Academy, and high-impact consultancy.

AI and Education — Oct–Nov 2025

Oct–Nov 2025

AI and Education

Between October and November 2025, Durable Impact organized a series of events with secondary school teachers and education stakeholders to discuss the ethical use of AI to enhance quality education in schools and college classrooms. Before our training, we held a consultative session with 15 teachers to understand the challenges they face in the classroom — ensuring our content was informed, practical, and aimed at improving the teaching-learning process.

Empowering the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs — Jan 2025

Jan 2026

Empowering the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs

70–80% of startups in Cameroon fail within the first five years due to inadequate training and lack of customers, and 45% of SME managers have only a secondary education. During the first edition of the ENGEN event, we supported startups, small business owners, and managers by strengthening their entrepreneurial capacity — helping them identify viable market opportunities, write business plans, develop clear value propositions, leverage digital tools, and design bankable business models that attract finance.

Race to Clean Environment — February 2026

February 2026

Race to Clean Environment

In the midst of the waste management crisis in Yaoundé, we showed up. We independently launched a waste hackathon — a program designed to create a safe, empowering space where Cameroon's young innovators and changemakers could address one of our nation's most pressing challenges. What unfolded over those intense 24 hours exceeded every expectation: 29 dedicated participants formed 9 dynamic teams and pitched AI-driven solutions for smarter collection, recycling, community engagement, and circular economy models. The energy and collaboration in the room reminded us why investing in youth is the most powerful lever for sustainable change.
